Changi records +6.7% May passenger increase and opens new stores

SINGAPORE. Singapore Changi Airport handled 4.78 million passengers in May; a +6.7% year-on-year increase.

The airport also announced the opening of two new stores in its transit areas. Harry’s Bar has opened in Terminal 2, while a Gucci outlet has launched in Terminal 3.

In the public areas, Pure Gold Jewellers and Avenue Kids both commenced operations in Terminal 2. It is the children’s apparel and toy store’s second full airport store following the opening of its first in the Terminal 2 transit area in May.

Aircraft movements were +4.1% higher at Changi in May, with 30,220 landings and takeoffs.

Travel to and from North East Asia and Africa rose by over +10%. Traffic also increased between Singapore and South East Asia, South West Pacific and the Middle East.

All of Changi Airport’s top 10 country markets registered traffic growth, with double-digit increases for China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
