UK. Celebrity hairdresser Bradley Smith has opened the first Arrivals blow-dry bar at Heathrow T5.

The Bradley Smith Hair Express Bar, scheduled to open on 15 September, fought off competition from other high-profile brands to secure a three-year contract.

The Express Bar, located in the Arrivals hall opposite the Heathrow Express, will offer 15-minute blow-dries, manicures, threading and massage services and seven-minute men’s cuts.

The salon will operate a walk-in service but appointments can also be made via the Bradley Smith website (bradleysmithhair.com).

Bradley Smith said: “This is all about giving customers what they need when they land at Heathrow. Arrivals should be about getting the essentials as quickly as possible. Speed and efficiency are key, especially for business travellers arriving for meetings.”

Smith added: “Altitude, cabin pressure and climate control wreak havoc on hair. The last thing anyone wants when they land is for their hair to look like it’s just travelled 3,000 miles.

“The Express Bar means you can get a 15-minute blow-dry while you wait for your taxi and look better when you leave the airport than when you took off.”

Heathrow Retail and Service Proposition Director Chris Annetts said: “We are delighted to welcome Bradley Smith’s Express Bar to Terminal 5 Arrivals. With so many of our passengers heading straight from the airport to the office or an event in London, this new bar will be the perfect way of ensuring they feel refreshed and look their best.”
