Boston Logan Airport set to issue RFP for speciality retail and F&B programme

USA. The Massachusetts Port Authority plans to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for its food & beverage and news & speciality retail concessions programme at Boston Logan International Airport. Airmall currently oversees the airport’s concessions programme.

According to Massport, it is seeking a master developer that will:

• Develop a creative and innovative, nationally recognised and award-winning concessions programme;

• Increase customer satisfaction and spending with improved product choice;

• Enhance the economic well-being of the adjacent communities, Greater Boston and the New England region through increased participation in concession opportunities;

• Maximise net revenues to the airport authority.

Massport said that the winning proposal would be one that widens choice and value; includes local, regional and nationally recognised brands and products; increases the proportion of passengers who spend; enhance the perception of value with prices consistent with those in off-airport locations nearby; introduces innovation to the programme and creates excitement and awareness of Boston Logan’s concessions.

The master developer wil oversee food & beverage as well as speciality retail at Boston Logan

The candidate should also “encourage an overall design which promotes and reflects the Boston, Massachusetts and New England regions, without being contrived or artificial, and which is architecturally consistent with the terminals and its public space,” Massport added.

Submissions from potential partners are due by 1 September.
