CANADA. In an outstanding finale, the 23rd annual Frontier Duty Free Association (FDFA) Convention in Montreal concluded with the FDFA Gold Standard Awards for Excellence.
The Platinum awards were given to Tobacco Plains Duty Free Shop, Boutique Hors-Taxes de Philipsburg Inc and Blue Water Bridge Duty Free Shop. Blue Water Bridge also took home the award for Best Marketing.
Pernod Ricard North America Travel Retail scooped the Large Supplier of the Year award while Turkey Hill Sugarbush Ltd won the award for Small Supplier of the Year.
The Outstanding Customer Service award went to Denise Gamble of Altan Duty Free Shops Ltd while West Coast Duty Free Shop received the Best New Idea accolade.
The FDFA Convention was held at the Quebec Le Centre Sheraton Montreal from 13-16 January. Over 90 suppliers took space at the show, split between the trade floor and hotel suites.
