Bacardi reveals striking Otard showcase with Eraman at KLIA

Bacardi Global Travel Retail has partnered with Malaysian travel retailer Eraman to create the first ever Baron Otard Art de Vivre (the “˜art of living’) – a new luxury showcase for the Cognac house at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Located in the “˜luxury zone’ of the airport’s Contact Pier, Baron Otard Art de Vivre was inspired by the work of leading French designer Christophe Pillet. He designed the award-winning crystal decanter for Baron Otard Fortis et Fidelis, described as “the ultimate expression” of Baron Otard Cognac and the house’s rarest ever blend.

Fortis et Fidelis will take centre stage within Art de Vivre; alongside it will be the entire Baron Otard portfolio including Baron Otard XO Gold, Baron Otard Extra 1795 and the limited edition Baron Otard Vintage 1972.

At select times, an ambassador for Baron Otard Cognac will offer consumers the opportunity to sample Baron Otard from the Art de Vivre bar and other KLIA locations. And for a limited period, travellers will be offered a GWP of an exclusive travel bag designed by Christophe Pillet.

Adding to the luxurious feel of Art de Vivre are items from Christophe Pillet’s contemporary furniture collection and on the bar counter, a 24-inch touch-screen display will bring to life the heritage and spirits-making expertise behind Baron Otard Cognac. Travellers will be able to discover more about Château de Cognac, the home of Baron Otard, each of the individual Cognacs in its collection and the designer Christophe Pillet.

“Baron Otard Art de Vivre is a destination for anyone who loves the finest Cognac,” said Bacardi Global Travel Retail Asia-Pacific Regional Director Paul Francis.

Commenting on the widely reported news of a shortage of higher quality Cognacs due to the category’s massive growth in Asia, he added: “I am very pleased to confirm that thanks to the production plans we put in place many years ago, we are in a very strong position and will be able to meet the growing demand for Baron Otard XO, Baron Otard Extra and Baron Otard Fortis et Fidelis for the foreseeable future.”

Eraman Head of Marketing Bob Lee said: “Baron Otard Art de Vivre represents exactly what we want travellers to experience when they enter our store – a luxurious environment where they can find the world’s finest spirits, learn more about them and perhaps even have a taste, before selecting the bottle they would like to enjoy themselves or purchase as a very special gift.”

Baron Otard Art de Vivre joins other leading Bacardi brands in the Eraman luxury zone including Bacardi rum, Bombay Sapphire gin and – starting in June – Grey Goose vodka.

Baron Otard Art de Vivre will be launched at major airports in the Asia Pacific region throughout 2012.
