IRELAND. ARI has appointed Deirdre Devaney as its new Global Head of Beauty.

The company said Ms Devaney has enjoyed a “stellar” career in the beauty and fashion sector.

She started her retail career at Harrods Knightsbridge in England, before returning to Ireland in 1999 as a Senior Fashion Buyer at Brown Thomas. Ms Devaney subsequently joined Arnott’s department store as Fashion and Beauty Director in 2008, where she spearheaded the transformation of its fashion, accessories, footwear and beauty offer.

She said, “I am delighted to join ARI as Global Head of Beauty and to make the move from downtown retail to travel retail. It’s an industry sector that has always held great appeal and I’m particularly excited to get the opportunity to work on ARI’s plans to create iconic beauty stores in Abu Dhabi and Muscat.

“I look forward to meeting with all our valued beauty brand partners in Cannes and over the coming months to better understand their ambitions and growth plans.”

ARI Global Buying Director Paul Neeson added, “We are delighted to welcome Deirdre onboard. Her extensive High Street experience and in-depth category knowledge will be a tremendous asset for ARI.”
