Aelia joint venture SDA opens multi-category store at new Air France terminal in Paris – 04/09/08

The new 300sq m multi-category outlet at Terminal 2G offers a full range of perfumes, cosmetics, liquor, wines, Champagnes, tobacco products, confectionery and fine food

FRANCE. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport’s newest terminal, 2G, opens to the travelling public this week. It is the latest in a series of key developments carried out by Aéroports de Paris (AdP).

Terminal 2G is dedicated to national carrier Air France and will serve domestic routes and short-haul Schengen destinations including Italy, Spain, Germany and Scandinavia. And, in common with the airport’s existing terminals, 2G features an expansive retail offer from SDA, the joint venture between Aelia Group and AdP.

The 300sq m multi-category outlet in 2G opened on September 3 and offers a full range of perfumes, cosmetics, liquor, wines, Champagnes, tobacco products, confectionery and fine food. Each category is clearly defined and the store features wide alleyways designed to ease browsing.

Aelia France Operations Director Pascal Merle said: “This terminal is just the latest in a long line of new initiatives at Paris CDG and we are delighted to play our part. The nature of the passenger profile at 2G has required a very specific approach with regard to product range, and we expect sectors such as wine, Champagne and chocolate to perform well.

“In perfumes and cosmetics, all the leading brands are present and we have given prominent positions to new launches, travel exclusives, skincare sets and also children’s items. As elsewhere in our store network, customer service will be crucial to the store’s success and it is an area in which we’ve invested a lot. The shop enjoys a prime position within the terminal and we are confident it will meet the expectations of both our partner and our customers.

“Almost all of our stores in CDG and indeed Orly have been reviewed and refurbished over the past couple of years, and with the opening of this latest operation we have a strong platform for growth in Paris.”
