ACI Europe retail and commercial event to tackle missed opportunities

EUROPE. The 24th ACI Europe Commercial & Retail Conference & Exhibition, which takes place on 21-23 April in Milan, will focus on missed airport commercial opportunities and how to tackle them.

The event, (formerly known as ACI Europe’s Airport Trading event) attracts around 400 senior level delegates from airports, travel retailers and brands each year.

The latest session for which details were announced will be led by Dubai Airports Senior Vice President Commercial Eugene Barry, themed around seizing untapped commercial opportunities at airports.

Speakers will include SSP WEMEAP CEO Nick Inkster on the gate room opportunity, Chauntry CEO Theresa Hughes on under-exploited revenues at airport car parks, Travelex Global Business Development Director Paul Brindley on foreign exchange and JCDecaux Executive Vice President Commerce and Development France Isabelle Schlumberger on advertising.

The panellists will be asked:

*What are the biggest missed opportunities for airports in terms of commercial revenue? And how can airports ensure those opportunities are seized in future?

*If you could make one radical change to the airport commercial proposition, what would it be?

*With commercial revenues increasingly important, which areas of income offer opportunities for the most significant growth?

*How can airports make the most of activities and services that do not generate revenues themselves, but play vital roles in indirect profitability?

Further speaker details will be revealed soon. The ACI Europe event will also feature a strong social side. Host airport SEA Aeroporti di Milano will present its newly opened luxury shopping mall Piazza del Lusso in Terminal 1 to delegates, and is organising a tour of the location. The 8,000sq m mall features 46 new outlets including a 2,000sq m duty free area.
