“A celebration of citrus notes”: Ballantine’s 21yo Golden Zest exclusively available in Korean airports

Pernod Ricard has launched Ballantine’s 21yo Golden Zest Edition exclusively in South Korean travel retail.

The new Scotch, which is the second release in the Ballantine’s Signature Flavour Series, is only available at Incheon, Gimpo and Jeju airports. It was introduced this month and retails at US$150.

The release has been accompanied by a dynamic online campaign

The 21yo Scotch blends orange zest, creamy vanilla and honey flavours. Ballantine’s Master Blender Sandy Hyslop commented: “For this expression, I wanted to highlight the beautiful zesty layers of citrus character that blossom continuously over the 21 years of maturation. The result is an ode to Ballantine’s signature style and a celebration of its citrus notes whilst paying tribute to the exceptional depth of flavours that makes Ballantine’s 21yo a global favourite.”

The release has been accompanied by a campaign that seeks to engage Korean customers before they travel. The campaign provides an online experience that explores the blend of citrus flavours. Visitors to the website can then download a voucher to redeem a GWP: a set of Ballantine’s whisky stones.
